Valentine’s Day Cupcakes with Sweetheart Peanut Butte

Last year I stocked up on these adorable edible Valentine’s Day stickers, but I didn’t know what I wanted to do with them. Throughout the year I tried them on a number of desserts: cookies, the side of a cake, and even on a marshmallow in hot chocolate — but my favorite attempt, so far, are these sweetheart peanut butter cups! All I had to do was peel the edible image designs off and stick them on top of the peanut butter cup — no water, simple syrup, etc., needed! They go right on very easily and don’t change the the flavor of the treat at all!

After I prepped the Sweetheart Peanut Butter Cups, I added it to the top of a frosted cupcake. There is no “perfect” method to this. Either stand them straight up and stick them down into the icing, or lay them back slightly and go in from the side. Look at the photo (above) to decide which way you like them best. (I preferred them straight upright, as shown in the photo below.)

3 – Prepared Frosting

Variations/Notes:

Use any cupcake and frosting you wish, so long as it goes well with peanut butter cups. We prefer white cake, but I’m sure chocolate would be great too.
